MOVING THE MARGINS: The IGive presents Art Therapy @ The Jessie
Duval County hip hop emcee The IGive performed and curated a live music and art showcase highlighting Mental Health Awareness at The Jessie Ball duPont Center on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.
Mental health is a widespread growing topic in the community. The creative arts have always been a healthy outlet to help artists and audiences cope with some of life’s greatest challenges. Art Therapy gave a spotlight on the intersection between expressive creative arts and mental health, as well as provided information about organizations and resources pertaining to mental health counseling and programs. Special invited performance artists shared their expressions that help get them and their audiences through and a small number of organizations, counselors and coaches to shared information about mental health resources and their services.
This event featured live performances from some of Jacksonville’s most talented hip hop artists, spoken word poets and dancers, as well as featured displays from some our city’s best artists and painters.
This event was free to the public.
